Plans Change

Well, we thought we would make it home today, but that didn't go as planned. Our flight was cancelled and we had to rearrange plans. If  only we could have predicted the change of plans, then maybe we could have made it to the Baylor game. I guess it all worked out, we did get to spend an extra day with family. Sometimes plans change and we have to adjust. The important part is how we react to the change. To me, some things just aren't worth getting stressed out about. This is a new concept to me because in the past, change was not an easy concept for me. With time, I have come to adapt to change with a little more ease. I realize now that the key for surviving is how you react to the change that takes place. I try to stay positive and look for the good in the situation. Sometimes that is way more difficult that I would like, but things always seem to work themselves out!

Another Holiday Has Past

Well, it has happened again! Another Christmas has passed me by and soon another year will be complete. It seems so unreal to me how fast the time passes. Getting older reveals the important things in life and reminds me of where my focus should be. I am fortunate that I was able to spend the holidays with my family. My grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles, brothers, cousins, husband and kids were all healthy enough to be together to celebrate the holidays as a family. Although it is difficult to see loved ones grow old, I will always cherish the time I get to spend with them.  It is also strange to see your life as a child reflected in the younger family members. As I have gotten older, the holidays have become less about opening presents and more about the fellowship of family. The holidays are about being together and celebrating God's great gift he gave to the world. Without Him there would be no love within families, no compassion for others and no Christmas season. I hope you all had an amazing time with friends and family. I also hope that God blesses all of you as much as he has blessed me! Merry Christmas!

Countdown

Don't you love countdowns? Whether it be birthdays, holidays, vacations or school, they always seem to keep me anxiously waiting for something. The most recent countdown is for Christmas! We are headed to the Rocky Mountains to spend the week with my family. This will be the second time we have all got together for a white Christmas. The kids are so excited. There are so many great things that come with family, vacation, and the holidays. The laughter that fills the room when were all together is like music to my ears. The warm soup after a long day in the cold is so tasty that it sends chills up and down your body. And the sense of family that you get when you're all together, celebrating the amazing holiday of Christmas. I hope you all have a family to spend your holidays with and if you don't, spend it with some special friends. Celebrate the reason for the season!

Rough Days

One of the things that annoys me most about having RA is the unpredictability! Yesterday I woke up feeling great and today is the complete opposite. I have been trying to workout consistently and eat healthy foods, but I still can't manage to get this disease under control. I have been taking my new meds for over a month now and I haven't notices a huge difference. I was told it make take up to 6 months! Seriously? It is hard to stay positive when you hurt but I guess it could always be worse.

You get what you pay for

Don't you hate when you think you're getting a good deal on something and it turns out to be nothing like what you expected. Well today, I took my dog to get a hair cut. When I picked him up, I left $30 poorer and my dog looked exactly the same. This has been an ongoing problem in Georgia. It is either ridiculously expensive or the hair cut ends up looking like trash. I will say that the expensive hair cut did look pretty cute. So I guess that proves that you get what you pay for!

One Week

We leave in one week to go skiing! This Christmas we are headed to New Mexico. We are staying in the mountains and will be skiing, tubing, snowboarding during the week. Then on Christmas day we will celebrate a white Christmas and enjoy some of grandma's chicken and dressing. I always look forward to this time of year because I love the feeling you get when your snuggled up to those you love, watching a good Christmas movie and listening to the fire crackle. I hope you all have a safe and happy holidays!
